Rollcall: Calling all Young Green Professionals

I have had the pleasure of working with and meeting a few of the young rising stars in the Northeast’s renewable energy “scene.” But seriously, where are the rest of you? I know you are out there; recent undergraduates and young professionals, let’s hear your perspectives and what you have to say!

This is a casting call- audition now for your moment in the spotlight contributing to the regional and national conversation about the importance of renewable energy in a big and public way.

There is no better time than now to contribute your voice and perspective.

There is so much more to what is happening in renewable energy and energy efficiency than tech talk and science; both of which are critically important to moving these industries forward, but alienating to the mainstream who just wants to figure out a sensible way that they can make a difference and go green. We need new perspectives to help change the scope of the conversation and help bring green to the mainstream.

Many young renewable energy professionals are using social media and tactics like blogs, Facebook, twitter, podcasting, organizing Green Drinks meetups, and running other local networking events to target their audiences. For instance, I run my company’s PR strategy, manage our Facebook page, manage our LinkedIn presence, organize two Green Drinks meetups in my area, and network constantly with green events and advocacy groups around me.

So young folks- step up to the plate, make your voice heard! Who are you and how are you leading your town or region in the conversation about the importance of going green?
